An amazing display of amber-oranges and subtle tangerines glorify the dazzling Pacific as the Sun disappears into the distant horizon! The beaches of Crescent City were swallowed by the Phoenix, or so it seemed!

From the historic Battery Point Lighthouse to the rocky beaches that meet the mighty Pacific Ocean, Crescent City was one fantastic escape! We arrived around 2pm, and the Ocean Front Lodge let us check in to our room straight away; they even gave us an upgrade to the suite with a sweet discount. The accommodation was great, jacuzzi and all, but it was the STUNNING VIEW that captivated us! Beautiful cresting waves swooped upon the mounds of rocks that decorated the beach and magically disappeared into the ocean with an occasional ripple from the blue and white splashing tides! The lighthouse was just ahead on a hilltop a blink away! We got some great shots at Battery Point, and as Sunset come, I could not help being mesmerized by all the COSMIC ORANGES AND REDS in the sky! It was truly what I would call, an “X-Men” moment: Phoenix Rising, if you will. I am a bit of a comic nerd, so there you go!
The astounding structure of the Battery Point Lighthouse is the epitome of one’s essence: You expect the “keeper” to walk out the doors any moment!
Whitecaps engulf these magnificent rock formations are glorified by the golden Sunset on the horizon!
The sweeping lights of Battery Point Lighthouse and its foghorns will guide you safely into harbor!
