G’day, Mates! There is just something about being Australia that makes me have to say it! This trip, we landed in SYDNEY Airport, and, honestly, I don’t remember what time it was. The flight was great, but long! We got in and through customs, and the process was not too tedious. (Ok, we lost each other briefly, but each of us found our way back.) Then, the cabbie picked us up from the airport, and we were whisked off to our hotel at the Circular Quay on Sydney Harbour (or course, my American spellcheck wants me to spell that with no “u”, but I am in Australia, so I am keeping it, mate!); It is AMAZING! The PULLMAN QUAY SYDNEY HARBOUR has the most beautiful ACCOMMODATIONS with a FANTASTIC VIEW of the SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE, as well as the rest of the Harbour (Check out the videos!).

Now, at this point, we thought it couldn’t be any better, so we decided to walk around the Circular Quay. Just around the corner from our room was The SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE. Talk about an astonishing work of art; It is breathtaking! Construction started on this incredible building in March, 1959, and it opened in October, 1973. The Concert Hall holds 2679 people; The venue has 1500 performances each year that entertains more than 1.2 million people! For anyone that comes to Sydney, this is a must on your list!

So, we spent the day checking out some of the local spots, including a bakery and coffee house down the street. CAFFE AURORA had delicious pastries and sandwiches, as well as our much needed FLAT WHITES! The caffeine did its thing, and help energize us for the walk around the area! Although, A LITTLE BIRD decided to have some scraps for himself! He TOLD US he was really hungry (More or less, he sang to us!).

We walked around SYDNEY and found some really interesting places, did some clothes shopping for Australian wear (Although, interestingly, Australian stores have a lot of American brands in their stores; go figure!). There are many fascinating shops in the area; idle boredom will never be a problem for anyone in this MODERN METROPOLIS BY THE SEA!

You have not been to Australia unless you have seen a few kangaroos along the way!
